MACE Qatar Awarded QR. 23m Work Order
MACE Qatar was issued with a Work Order on 17th September 2013 by Samsung C&T for a total value of QR. 23 million for the construction of pneumatic waste collection (PWC) and district cooling system (DCS) on Contract Package 5 at Lusail.
The scope of the pneumatic waste collection works includes the supply and installation of approximately 500 meters of welded 15mm thick carbon steel pipes laid mainly in tunnels and partly buried including associated fittings and inspection openings forming part of the entire PWC system in Lusail.
The scope of the district cooling system includes the supply and installation of approximately 2 km of welded pre-insulated carbon steel pipes of up to 1200mm in diameter with an HDPE jacket complete with welded joints and joint kits with electro welded casings, fittings, valves, shut-off valve chambers, air vent valve chambers and communication chambers. The works which form part of the entire district cooling system in Lusail also involve crossings of Lusail Railway Tracks.
The works are expected to be completed in February 2014.
